Message from the Principal

Welcome to Lincoln Elementary. I am looking forward to another great school year.

The Wisconsin Department of Instruction changed the recognition system for state PBIS awards.  Lincoln was recognized with a Silver rating for our PBIS efforts.  This is a high honor and we are very proud of this accomplishment.  We will continue to recognize students who are making positive choices and following the established expectations with weekly, monthly and quarterly incentives.  We will be sending home our school expectation matrix as well as our recognition matrix during the first week of school.  We also encourage you to complete a home matrix to help keep things consistent between school and home.

We are excited for our third year as an Academic Parent Teacher Team (APTT) school.  We received a continuation grant to help us continue to improve this new model of family engagement.  We will have three grade level meetings and one 30 minute conference this year. These meetings will replace the traditional parent/teacher conferences in fall and spring. We listened to the feedback that you gave on the surveys and changed some things for next year. Our grade level meetings will be on the following dates:  October 12, February 22 and May 17.  All grade levels will be meeting on the same evening.  The schedule will look like this for each meeting: 5:15-5:45 Food in the MPR…5:45-7:00 Parents in the grade level meeting/students in the auditorium for a fun activity…7:00-7:15 parents go to other classrooms to set SMART goals for other children at Lincoln…7:00 Prize give away announced over the PA system.   There will be child care for each meeting. Since this is replacing parent/teacher conferences it is the expectation that you attend the grade level meetings and the individual conference in November/December.

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, September 12 for our Fall Color Run.  This is our second year doing a color run.  Last year was a blast and we are expecting this year to be just as fun.  Please look for additional information from the PTA.  This is one event you will not want to miss.

The staff at Lincoln has been working hard to prepare for the upcoming school year by attending workshops and classes.  Lincoln is extremely proud of our accomplishments and we will continue to make educating your children our top priority.

Together we will make this an excellent year.
If you have any questions please call me at 832-6270.

Respectfully,

Mr. McClone
